Back-end Developer - PwC

Your job is to create new (software based) solutions for our clients to a wide variety of challenges related to innovation, emerging technologies, and new/changed rules and regulations.

You will be part of a new team within PwC’s successful and fast growing CMAAS practice that supports multinationals and financial institutions on projects related to Accounting, Quantitative Finance, and Risk and Regulatory topics.

You are part of a multi-disciplinary, client-facing engagement team. You will be working together with industry experts, project managers, finance specialists and accountants. Your job is to create new (software based) solutions for our clients to a wide variety of challenges related to innovation, emerging technologies, and new/changed rules and regulations. You will train and manage more junior team members (starters) and you will have a say in CMAAS strategy with respect to new investments in tooling and technology.

Who are you?

  • You have an academic degree in a field related to computer science or software engineering
  • You have 3-5 years of professional working experience in the field of software development and/or requirements engineering
  • You have strong programming skills and comfortable with Javascript library and frameworks, like D3 and AngularJS
  • You have experience working with REST APIs
  • You have experience with emerging IT themes in business , like block-chain, artificial intelligence and the use of big data. 
  • You are able to articulate your thoughts and ideas also to colleagues with less experience with your area of expertise.
  • You are a team player and contribute towards a pleasant working atmosphere
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, in English and preferably in Dutch. 
  • A basis understanding of Finance, Accounting and Regulatory frameworks is considered as an advantage.
  • You want to grow, build relations, create impact and get the most out of yourself and your colleagues.

What's the job about?
Our Requirements Engineers help multinationals and financial institutions on projects related to Accounting, Quantitative Finance, and Risk and Regulatory topics.

You are part of a multi-disciplinary, client-facing engagement team. You will be working together with industry experts, project managers, finance specialists and accountants. Together we create client solutions to a wide variety of challenges related to innovation, emerging technologies, and new/changed rules and regulations. Examples are tools in support of

  • Purchase Price Allocations,
  • Validations of mathematical regulator and accounting models at our banking clients,
  • Complex accounting engagements

The solutions we design follow ‘component-based-development’, where your role is to identify new solutions, find existing components, or design and build new components for those tools. Examples of such components are ETL, Visualisation, data base functionality, or tailor made technical models. Also, You will have a wide variety of software packages at your disposal available, such as D3, AngularJS, Alteryx, Tableau, Qlik, etc. You also have the flexibility to use programming languages that suit your preferences and needs (Javascript, R, Python, etc).

In your role as a requirements engineer, you use your knowledge on contemporary Computer Science and programming either in the role of a technology advisory, or in the development, creation and implementation of new IT solutions to our internal and external clients.
