Our CFO Consultancy business unit specializes in the delivery of assurance led consultative propositions for clients. EY is the only professional services firm with a separate business unit (“CFO consulting”) that is dedicated to the CFOs agenda for both financial and non-financial clients. Our CFO consulting team consists of different competencies to enable exceptional CFO services addressing the CFO agenda items. By leveraging the Client’s data to its full potential, our FAAS Financial Data and Analytics  Team supports our clients by solving their most complex problems and producing innovative new insights.

The opportunity 

We are seeking a driven and ambitious Manager to join this exciting and fast growing area of our business. Your key responsibilities

These days CFOs of global firms face an increasingly complex and rapidly changing environment, in which new technological developments heavily impact business decision-making. At the same time firms are producing more data than ever before, while not exploiting the data to its fullest. As a Manager you will have a focus on the challenges that the CFO has with regards to data and analysis of it:

  • Understand all our consulting service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients and be able to build meaningful external relationships with our clients and internal relationships across service lines
  • Lead Data Consulting engagements, managing team performance and commercials including conducting performance reviews and contributing to performance feedback for all levels of staff and managing engagement billings, and estimates to complete
  • Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring all levels of staff
  • Getting involved with industry research, client thought leadership, RFPs and/or client roundtables
  • Plans, directs, and co-ordinates activities to deliver projects from mobilization through to implementation by leading, directing and overseeing medium to large sized teams of project resources working across multiple workstreams
  • Influences and negotiates project outcomes, often across multiple functions. Prepares and presents analysis, insights and recommendations to assist defined governance forums and senior client stakeholders with decision making

Skills and attributes for success

To do this role effectively, we are looking for people with knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • At least 6 years’ experience working in a client facing role for a leading consulting or professional services company in delivery of large-scale complex technical projects or systems integration projects
  • You have experience in sales, RFPs and client relationship building
  • Master's degree with a strong affinity for Data such as Data Science, (Quantitative) Finance, Econometrics, Analytics or another study related to these domains
  • A desire to identify new opportunities and help to create proposals to help solve our client’s most complex
  • Experience of one or more technology areas including but not limited to AI, ERP, CRM, RPA, Cloud Migration and/or integrations
  • Additional professional qualifications, from a recognized third level institution or accreditation body
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Well-articulated interest and vision of digital trends, market developments, and regulatory changes and how this impacts our clients. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills: written, presentation, and influencing.
