Customer Intelligence Analyst - AEGON

Locatie: The Hague


To accelerate digital transformation and to exploit synergies and international best practices, a brand new Digital Center of Excellence (CoE) is currently being staffed for continental Europe and Asia. The center will facilitate all country units in the region and is organized around the following areas of expertise:

  • Analytics
  • Digital Marketing
  • User Experience
  • Digital Strategy & Business Development

In the Data & Analytics team we will bring together top talents with the experience, skills and knowledge to help our local businesses.
As Customer Intelligence Specialist you will analyze data from Aegon globally and external (open) sources. You are leveraging advanced analytical approaches to provide new insights to help the business make better and fact-based decisions. This includes campaign optimization for offline and online, customer value management, pricing, customer journey analytics etc. Here you are at the fore-front of implementing new analytical methods and use-cases.
Your insights will provide Aegon a better insights on customers’ need and value. But we can also leverage these insights to better anticipate on fraud. In the Data & Analytics team you work together with intelligence teams from various countries  and different business lines of the organization. In addition, you work with different start-ups of Aegon. You will help build services that assist customers with making financial decisions – wherever, however, and whenever they choose. Your duties will include the following:

  • Online Data Evangelist – Advising on measurements, metrics and reporting processes for digital marketing. Playing a leading and enabling role in equipping the wider organization with the skills required to measure and analyze digital activities
  • Analysis – Identifying Customer pain areas in Consumer Decision Journeys and E-Commerce Conversion cycles and do in-depth analysis to recognize ways of site improvements and optimization. Continuous testing and CRO experiments are a crucial part of this responsibility
  • Reporting and Dashboarding – Identifying the “stories” based on the data and sharing it across the country unit digital teams and your CoE colleagues through reports and dashboards regularly. You play a key role in informing management about the progress of digital transformation across continental Europe en Asia.
  • Tool Ownership – Responsible for managing relationships with the Solution Vendor and working with Procurement team for contract renewals. Consulting for other BUs / Group Websites regarding tool implementation, data consistency etc. Requires interaction with other development agencies in case of special Mini-sites / Campaigns etc
  • You will translate the business needs of the countries into actions to raise sales and service conversion and connect offline data to online web-analytics data
  • You will be responsible for clear communication between the various countries, departments and work closely with the various stakeholders
  • You will develop new ideas and concepts in the field of web analytics, marketing automation and channel performance
  • You will help to grow the capabilities of Aegon Country’s by training others on the job and helping them to implement best practices

In practice, this means that you will make performance of our digital channels measurable and improve this performance together with other specialists in the CoE. You will translate data insights into product specifications and user stories and actively involve our customers and other corporate divisions in performance improvement.


  • You have a university degree or equivalent, preferably in econometrics or another relevant field
  • You have 2-5 years relevant work experience and are a top-talent in the area of analytics
  • You have experience with Machine Learning techniques (e.g. supervised, unsupervised, self-learning)
  • You have worked with the relevant analytical programming languages and have excellent programming skills (e.g. SQL, R, Python)
  • You know how to technically implement machine learning solutions in a production environment (e.g. data science lab, containers)
  • Having knowledge and experience with big data technology would be great (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, H2O, Amazon)
  • You take the responsibility to translate analytical insights to concrete business initiatives
  • You are enthusiastically ambitious and you want to help transform our company into a leading, client-oriented financial services organisation
  • You take responsibility for the opportunities and threats you identify in the market
  • You are a flexible, innovative team player who handles stress well
  • Candidates are required to be fluent in English. Speaking multiple languages is considered an advantage

The CoE is leading in the way-of-working over the regions, including KPI’s and tooling. Next to that the team will support countries in reaching their sales & service goals via the various digital channels. We look forward to meet with a Customer Intelligence Specialist, who has experience in Machine Learning techniques. Candidate will report directly to the Head of Data & Analytics of the CoE.
