IT (Data) Engineer - Employee Engagement - ABN AMRO

At a glance

The Employee Engagement Grid of ABN AMRO is looking for an IT (Data) Engineer, to work in a fun, energetic DevOps team. The HIT (HR Integration Team) team is responsible for integrating the HR data of ABN AMRO and enable other teams and departments in usage of that data. They do this with technology like: ETL, Python, Azure, DataBricks and PySpark.

Besides our “normal” work, we also enable a large program, where we replace our current HR ecosystem. We help decommissioning, migrating and integrating HR data, where multiple third parties are involved.

Your job

To speed up and strengthen our digital transformation, we are searching for the best IT Engineers to join us. With joining us we mean that you help us:

  • Gathering requirements
  • Designing new code based on the requirements
  • Modelling new data-models
  • Building, testing, implementing and maintaining data pipelines
  • Developing with SQL, PySpark, Python, CICD and other Azure native tooling
  • Innovate, experiment and help with setting up new technologies and structure and organize our code in a way that makes it sustainable and easy to change

Your profile

Our ideal candidate is proactive, loves working with data, and is able to listen to the ideas and concerns of her or his peers in order to be an effective team member. She or he is eager to learn about new developments within the world of data and technology. Explaining, teaching, mentoring and helping out others is what gives you energy. Our team documentation and communication is in English, that should not be an issue.

Requirements:

  • You have at minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in IT or a related field.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in software development and you have participated in an Agile environment, using the Scrum principles
  • Worked with cloud native services (preferably Azure)
  • You have experience in working with platforms or applications that deal with big data 
  • You have experience in gathering requirements from various stakeholders
  • You are data savvy and have experience in data engineering
  • You have experience in building, implementing and maintaining scalable data pipelines
  • You have experience with SQL
  • You have experience with DataBricks/PySpark
  • You have experience working in a DevOps team and with business stakeholders
  • You are proficient in Python
