RI Data Specialist - NN

Location: The Hague
Employment: Full-time

With your expertise, you ensure the integrity of our responsible investing data throughout its lifecycle. Your contribution leads to trusted data for our clients, our investment processes, and operations.

Your impact as Data Steward Responsible Investing at NN IP

Responsible Investing is an area that is developing at a tremendous speed, and for which many new datasets are needed. These new datasets are of key importance to the future success of NN Investment Partners (NN IP). That’s where you come in.

With your expertise, you ensure the integrity of our responsible investing data throughout its lifecycle. You are the go-to expert for NN Investment Partners with anything in the realm of data in the responsible investing data domain; responsible for assuring quality and trust in the data, advising IT teams how to bring RI data to the required standard, creating standard definitions for the organization to follow, and maintaining a consistent use of data resources across the organization

Your responsibilities

You are the domain expert on several RI datasets, knowing of these datasets the data content and its interpretation, how they are technically implemented, and how the data are used within NNIP. You drive the implementation/onboarding of new RI datasets and tooling at NNIP, and also initiate further development of RI tooling, Furthermore:

  • You define the data within the responsible investing domain, and you will support establishing the methodology for Responsible Investing data sets. This includes establishing internal policies and standards—and enforcing those policies
  • You keep track of market developments on RI datasets and advise internal stakeholders on quality and usage. You maintain quality of the data using Investment Professionals feedback, concerns, questions; internally reporting metrics; evaluating and identifying issues; and coordinating and implementing corrections regularly
  • You monitor data usage to assist teams and provide insight into how and where teams can use responsible investing data to help in day-to-day decision-making
  • You liaise with the relevant departments on compliance and security of the data
  • You support data governance and data management awareness within NN IP, which includes policies, regulations, goals, measures, monitoring, communication, education, further adoption of our data governance & data quality tooling within Investments, and root cause analysis

Who you are

With our Responsible Investing goals in mind, you know how to achieve constructive cooperation, in which all of your colleagues can perform to the best of their ability. You are transparent and flexible and able to act at operational and executive level. Furthermore, you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a field of information technology, computer science or applied sciences (something between quant and business analyst)
  • We appreciate thorough knowledge and operational skills in the field of Data Analysis and Business (process) analysis with minimum 5 yrs experience. Experience with financial markets or asset management is required
  • You are able to analyse a dataset, and in doing so understand how datapoints interact and are able to troubleshoot mistakes
  • You are able to (quickly learn to) understand how IT systems are used and how data flows through the organisation
  • Both experience with ESG, responsible investing data, as well as experience with DAMA or DCAM would be a plus

Your colleagues

RI Data & Tooling is a small team that is positioned within the Responsible Investing & Innovation domain, and it has a pivotal role in enabling and promoting RI data and RI tooling. The team aligns closely with the data engineers and data quality team of RI Engineering, and with the data scientists from the innovation team. At the same time, frequent communication and interaction with portfolio managers and analysts is expected.

NN Investment Partners makes use of innovative technologies. A large part of our applications run on (AWS) cloud and Data Science is an integrated part of our investment process. Our organisation is agile, with value being delivered by (Biz)DevOps teams. You can expect a dynamic international working environment
