Senior Data Analyst - NN

Location: The Hague
Employment: Full-time
As Senior Data Analyst, you are mainly responsible for ensuring that all data users throughout the company have access to relevant, timely and high quality comprehensive data.

More and more businesses seem to start understanding the key importance of data in a company’s success. “Data is the new oil”, is a saying you might have heard before, and which you will probably continue to hear more so. Unfortunately understanding is just a first step in the many steps to follow. For most large corporates, such as NN Investment Partners, reaching the full potential of Data Management can be more challenging than it seems at first sight. The larger and more robust the company, the more challenging it becomes to implement sudden changes and improvements. This calls for a special set of skills and requirements; that is where you might come into play!

Your impact as Senior Data Analyst at NN

As a senior Data Analyst you will work in an international working environment and will become part of the Data Management team of NN Investment Partners. The team has the core objective to ensure that all data users throughout the company have access to relevant, timely and high quality comprehensive data, in a controlled and standardized manner such that it reduces risk and total cost of data ownership.

The team is continually focused to design new- and improve existing processes around the sourcing, validation and distribution of data to all users in the organization. This means investment decisions, risk management, (client) re-porting, and much more is directly based on your work. Besides, you will be the first port of call in case questions or urgent data incidents, and will be the leading person in giving direct oversight and support to our offshore team, which is located in India.

As part of NNIP’s ambition for 2022, the Data Management team is in a transition phase where we are refocusing on changing and optimizing processes, designing the to-be data landscape, implementing and decommissioning systems, and adopting new ways of working. We are looking for an enthusiastic and pro-active Data Analyst that is up for the challenge, and wants to take an active role in driving us forward into the future.

Your responsibilities

  • To enhance the Data quality control framework/governance, and to translate business needs into Data Management requirements and functional design
  • Oversee proper execution of our processes by the offshore team in India, and perform oversight on BlackRock Aladdin data service
  • Follow up on incidents, including root cause analysis, formulation of tactical/structural solutions and communication to both clients and management
  • Drive efficient and practical change management on processes, assessing their impact, and assure they land successfully within the team
  • Drive testing and implementation of system changes, and communicate and align suggested solutions and implemented changes with stakeholders

Who you are

This is what you bring with you:

  • An academic degree in Finance or a technical related field
  • 5 years or more of experience in the financial industry with executing, improving and overseeing data processes
  • 2 years or more of experience in Asset Management or related field plus knowledge of financials products
  • Experience in the following would be advantageous: Black Rock Aladdin, Programming skills, Data quality tooling and governance, experience with data providers such as Bloomberg or Refinitiv,  knowledge of fixed income, bonds, curves, (OTC) derivatives and Responsible Investing (RI)
  • Team player (can-do and proactive attitude)

Your colleagues

You will be joining a team of 5 data specialists located in The Hague and 5 colleagues located in India.

Continue developing

It is important to us that you continue to develop yourself. We give you the space and the confidence to grow in your career as well as a person. We help you with:

  • Plenty of training and learning opportunities in our Learning & Development Centre
  • A large (international) network of colleagues who are keen to share their knowledge with you
  • The autonomy to set out your own development path

Employee benefits

You are more than a colleague and that is something we understand very well at NN. You have many roles in life, leading to different choices. At NN we give you the opportunity to select employee benefits that are important to you. For instance buying additional leave days and flexible working hours. In consultation with your manager and your direct colleagues, you are able to work out of any location at any time. You get enough flexibility to adjust your working pattern to your personal needs. Also part of the benefits are (currently online) sports lessons and a special allowance to set up your home office and internet use. In addition, you will receive:

  • Salary in line with job grade (NN Group Hay level 18) depending on your knowledge and experience
  • Collective pension scheme with a personal contribution of only 6%
  • 194.4 hours of leave, based on a 36-hour week (that’s 27 vacation days for a 5-day working week) and one Diversity Day
  • Holiday allowance and a 13th month, paid with your monthly salary
  • NS Business Card 2nd class, which gives you unlimited travel 7 days a week. Do you prefer to travel with your own transport? Then you can declare the kilometres travelled for business and commuting
